Electro-Magnetic Frequency (EMF)The Invisible StressorWhat do you blame when your body shows signs of stress? Most of us look to well-known culprits:
EMF pollution is the invisible stress inducer that can be as damaging to our health, or even more so. Because it is invisible to the eye, we seldom give thought to EMF pollution, which can cause a variety of health problems including stress. MF pollution also interferes with our natural energy levels and can impair immune function, cause muscle tension, headaches, depression, general fatigue, sleep deprivation, feelings similar to jetlag and mood swings, just to name a few symptoms and conditions that can be induced by EMF pollution. As the human body is a complex energy system in itself with a myriad of electrically stimulated functions taking place within the brain and entire body every second, none of these negative effects of EMF pollution should come as a surprise. It should be obvious that the electrical conflict becomes a problem when we impart on our bodies' signal a strong EMF interference. EMF has also been linked to other more dangerous disorders and diseases including various cancers such as breast cancer, Alzheimer's disease, nervous conditions, anxiety and depression and also electrical sensitivity syndrome which has similar symptoms to chronic fatigue syndrome. So what can we do to reduce the impact of EMF? In the modern electrical and electronic world, it is difficult (if not impossible) to completely eliminate EMF stress from our lives. Here are a few steps that can reduce your exposure to EMF: 1) In cold weather never use electric blankets on your bed. With what we now know about the deleterious effects of interfering with out bodies' electrical systems, bathing your body in a strong EMF for 8 hours each night is nothing short of lunacy. Go for an extra blanket or two instead. 2) Keep cell phone use to a minimum. While phone manfacturers and cell phone users attempt to either prove or disprove the health dangers of cell phones, it is hardly rocket science to understand that a strong EMF such as that produced by a cell phone especially when placed near the brain must be somewhat of a danger. When analyzing scientific studies, it is always wise to "follow the money ..." and take the results with a grain of salt. 3) Try to place clock radios and other such devices well away from your bed, work desk or any other area where you spend a lot of time. 4) Avoid any more exposure to computers and televisions than absolutely necessary. Although EMF may not immediately come to mind when we are suffering from stress or a stress related disorder it certainly should be looked at as a possible cause or at the very least one of the causes of such health problems. Of course we should always pay attention to the major contributors to stress cited above -- including finances, family and work pressures, junk food, consumption of stimulants and chemicals, lack of exercise. Leading a healthy lifestyle, getting plenty of sunshine, exercise and consuming foods that build a strong immune system are in the first line of defense to handling stress and staying healthy. EMF pollution may be invisible. However, the risks that it poses to our health are very real, indeed. A significant element in that first-line defense system: Reduce our exposure to EMF pollution.
